I don't use "Tuxera" so I can't offer any advice other than to let you know those things typically break with macOS upgrades. That's the reason you can't copy anything to it. macOS can read, but not write, NTFS formatted volumes. NTFS isn't an option in Format a disk for Windows computers using Disk Utility on Mac - Apple Support. Refer to this Discussion: I can no longer write to or delete from my external hard drive. I know my other option is to format the external hard drive to OS X extended (that would delete everything, so would require me to take everything off the external to format, then put it back? I'm not sure where I would relocate everything as far as having enough storage?)Īny help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have never had this problem before, no other changes other than the update to High Sierra 10.13.1 (which was back in November ) I went to "get info" for the toshiba external hard drive and everything seems to be the same as always, along with "read and write" under sharing and permissions. Today when I went to add files to it (1st time since updating to High Sierra) it wouldn't allow me add files, giving me a "circle backslash symbol". Furthermore, if you’re an advanced user who needs complete access to things like full disk encryption, Tuxera NTFS for Mac has you covered. Tuxera NTFS for Mac is designed with ease of use in mind, so it’s ideal for both casual and advanced users. In other words, you’ll be able to use your NTFS drives and partitions in much the same way as you would with Windows.

Furthermore, it takes full advantage of 64-bit processor architecture to provide optimal performance. It works with all current versions of macOS as well as previous versions from OS X and onwards. You don’t need to worry about any complicated setup processes either, and the software provides instant access, including full write-enabled access, to any NTFS drive as soon as it has been installed. It also provides many other useful features that improve performance while providing better protection for your data. Tuxera NTFS for Mac does far more than just allow you to access files on NTFS-formatted drives. Fortunately, Tuxera NTFS for Mac integrates full support for the NTFS file system, allowing you to use any Windows-formatted drive without restrictions. While macOS does provide limited support for NTFS-formatted storage devices, it generally does not allow you to write data to the drive or perform most advanced tasks. However, Mac users will find their options limited if they want to access and use a device, such as an external USB hard drive or pen drive, that has been formatted using the NTFS file system. At the same time, many people prefer to use macOS, Apple’s proprietary operating system designed for use with its laptop and desktop computers. As the default file system used by all systems powered by Windows, NTFS is easily the most common format for storage devices used both at home and in the workplace.
